A few snapshots

Here are a few pictures from our recent trip to Guadalajara.

Guadalajara is a spacious city on a plain more than 5,000 ft. high and surrounded by mountains.

The following pictures were taken in the part of town called Zapopan.

These next set of pictures are taken in different plazas that are located downtown.  Plazas are very typical in Mexican cities.  It is a place where family and friends can gather to spend time with one another.  Often there are music events or activities for children going on for entertainment.

This is the main Catholic church for the city.  It is the largest and even the pharmacy uses the twin steeples in it's logo.

We took a day trip to Lake Chapala.  It is the largest inland lake in Mexico.  It is about 45 minutes away from Guadalajara and the home to many retired Americans and Canadians.

Tlaquepaque was our favorite part of town.  It felt a lot like downtown Charleston.  There were many artisan stores with a laid back feel.
