Trying to explain our going to NC to a three year old was a bit of a challenge. We didn't want to use the word home in reference to where we were staying for 4 weeks. So we we called it apartment #2 (super creative right???). When Nathan wanted to know where we were going, we would say "back to apt. #2". It worked well. This was a two bedroom apartment with a little living room area and a kitchen. We were a bit worried, because we knew Juliana and Nathan would have to share a room. Praise the Lord - they did GREAT!!! Usually when we put Nathan to bed, he sings and talks forever before falling asleep. He was such a great big brother and would lie still and quiet until falling asleep so he wouldn't wake up Juliana. Here are some pictures of apartment #2.
There were two other apartments on either side of ours. There was a 10 month old little boy in one and a 5 month old little girl in the other. They were wise to put all the small babies in the same area. We understood when little ones were crying!
Nathan and Juliana getting ready to walk to school one morning. They were rooting for the Gamecocks to win a 3rd National Championship in Baseball.
Can you tell from this picture that we were very glad we weren't living in a house that wasn't on the market to sell?? I think the children enjoyed putting their toys everywhere without us constantly saying - put this back in your room!
Juliana is "shopping" with her favorite toy - a stroller. This stroller was in Nathan's classroom and every day when we would walk past his classroom, Juliana headed straight for the stroller! Mrs. Gina was so sweet to let us take it to apartment #2. Juliana pushed that thing around EVERYWHERE. Stay tuned for more pictures of her pushing the stroller.
Nathan is enjoying his breakfast. When we first walked into Apt. #2, he asked how they got our table to this place. We have the exact same table and chairs and I think it brought a little bit of comfort to Nathan. Something that looked like home! The Lord is in even the smallest detail of a kitchen table.
