During the month of June, we were in missions training at the Center for
Intercultural Training in Rutherfordton, NC. We were blessed with
wonderful instructors and great classes where we learned so much. We
were in class from 8:30 - 3:30 each day. Some of the topics we learned about: Tools for cultural awareness, spiritual warfare, cross-cultural communication, raising children on the mission field, conflict resolution, team dynamics, cultural stress, and much more! Here is a picture of our classroom:
While we were in class, Nathan and Juliana were also in class. Nathan learned lots of bible stories, memorized four bible verses, learned about several different countries and learned how to sing the chorus of "Jesus loves Me" in Spanish, Swahili, and Japanese. He even went on two field trips. He loved going to school each day. Here is a picture of Nathan's class and with his teacher, Mrs. Gina.
The Lord heard and answered our prayers about Juliana. She has always had a hard time in nurseries. She always wanted to be held and we were often paged out to come get her because she was crying. The Lord blessed her with the sweetest teacher in the world! By the end of the first week, Juliana was walking into class by herself. We would say, "Are you ready to go see Mrs. Mary?" and she would say "uh-huh". Here is a picture of her last day where she was giving Mary a hug.
