A visit from the Kings

Jeff's parents came to visit before Christmas.  It was so wonderful having family in town.  Nathan and Juliana loved having their grandparents.

Thanks to the Kings, we were able to go take a quick vacation to the North part of Costa Rica - Guanacaste.  This part of CR has the prettiest beaches.  Each beach is a bit different.  We stayed in an amazing house and went to a different beach each day.  It was a nice relaxing time, since we had just finished our first term of language school.

Pool and deck - a great place to look at the amazing stars at night.

Day 1 at the Beach:  Puerto Viejo

Jeff, Nathan and I went horseback riding on the beach.

Juliana finally got into the water.
Day 2:  Flamingo Beach

Juliana isn't quite sure about the beach - she doesn't like the sand.

Nathan on the other hand - LOVES the sand!
Day 3:  Playa Conchel - by far our favorite.

The whitest sand - we needed to use the 4 x 4 to get to the beach.
Proof I was really there!
Snack time - see how Nathan loves the sand and Juliana doesn't!
After a trip to the beach, the car needs to be washed.  The perfect person to wash it?  A fireman of course!

Ready to wash the rental car before it goes back.
He will wash every part!
After the beach trip, we took Barbara and John to La Paz Waterfall Garden.  It was a fun day of animals and waterfalls!
