Christmas in CR: The Tree

We will only be in Costa Rica for one  year.  That means only one Christmas.  So the question for me, was how much Christmas stuff do we buy?  I didn't really think we would even have a Christmas tree.  The Lord is so good and answers even our small prayers.

They sell real Christmas trees here!!!  We were so excited to find this out.  We went to a house just a few blocks away.  They converted their garage into a "tree farm".  We picked one out, and they delivered to our house a few hours later.

We went to the store and bought some decorations.  We were a bit "late" buying decorations, since people here start decorating in Oct.  So the choices were slim - but we found some.

The Lights - we could have used a bit more! :)
Starting to decorate
We had to improvise a bit - we used twist ties to hang the ornaments.

The final product!

A funny story:  The first store we went to, all we could find were the icicle lights.  We bought them, thinking we could make it work.  We couldn't.  So for the first time in our married life, we actually had outside Christmas decorations!  :)

The blinking lights - super festive this year.
