Quilpué part II

After our travels to Valpo and Viña, we returned to Quilpué.  We said good-bye to the guys who had come with us from Santiago and spent the night on our own in Quilpué.  The next day we were awakened with the sounds of drums.  That day was a National Holiday - Navy Day.  Celebrating their military, in particular the Navy.  As we walked around the city a bit, we were excited to see that the celebration included a parade of many schools in the area.  After walking around the park to see the students preparing for the parade, we went to explore areas where we could live.

Notice the fancy school uniforms.

Starting the parade
Another school in the parade.  Almost every school had the girls in the front and the boys in the back.
After walking around the park to see the students in the parade, we went to explore areas where we could live. We had seen an area of town that looked promising as we drove to Viña.  It is on the outskirts of Quilpué but close to the outreach center.  Since our trip to Chile, I have done a bit of research of schools in Quilpué and have found one that might work.  It is in the same area that we liked as well.  Who knows if this is where the Lord will lead us, but it was a start!

One of the neighborhoods we really liked - but have no clue if we could rent a house or if we could even afford it.

Cute houses

They are also building a brand new apartment complex in this area.  Right now they are just selling the units.  We were able to leave our information with a lady who worked there in hopes of someone who might want to rent out the unit they buy.
